Since 2004, WIE
have been running successful Adult ESOL Literacy and Literacy programmes.
These programmes are designed for those learners that have little or no English
Literacy skills, so they are able to live day to day in an English speaking
country
English
for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) refers to the acquisition of
English as an additional language by people from
non-English-speaking backgrounds.
The teaching of
English to students for whom English is not a first language is a
central export
education activity and an important element in the success of the
whole industry. The quality
of ESOL provision is essential if students are able to participate
successfully in the New
Zealand school curriculum and interact socially with New Zealand
students and within the
wider New Zealand community.
We will give you a
placement test on the first day of your English
course to find your level. We will also give you a
questionnaire to tell us what you want from your
English course.
From the test and questionnaire we will put you into
a suitable English class.
